Morning Preparations
The day starts early at our service headquarters in Beaverton. By 6:30 AM, I’m reviewing the day’s service calls while enjoying my morning coffee. The dispatch board shows several appointments scattered throughout Tigard and Tualatin, with a couple of urgent heating system checks in Hillsboro.
First Call of the Day
After loading up my service van with common replacement parts, I head to my first appointment in Aloha. This morning’s call involves a routine maintenance check on a residential HVAC system. These preventive services are crucial, especially as we transition between seasons in the Pacific Northwest.
Mid-Day Challenges
By lunch, I’ve completed three service calls, including:
- A filter replacement and system cleaning
- Diagnosing a faulty thermostat
- Performing an emergency furnace repair for an elderly customer
Afternoon Schedule
The afternoon brings me to Tigard, where I’m scheduled to perform a complete HVAC inspection for a new homeowner. These comprehensive checks are particularly important in our region’s variable climate, where systems need to handle both humid summers and chilly winters efficiently.
End of Day
Before heading back to base, I complete my final service call in Tualatin. Today’s last job involves calibrating a newly installed smart thermostat system. It’s satisfying knowing that each visit helps maintain comfortable living spaces for our local community members.
The most rewarding part of working in the HVAC industry is seeing the immediate impact of our work on peoples’ daily comfort. Whether it’s restoring heat on a cold Oregon morning or ensuring proper ventilation during our warm summers, each day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve our community.
