A Winter Day in the Life of a HVAC Service Professional

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine

The day begins early at JTR Energy, especially during the peak winter season. After a quick breakfast and checking the weather forecast, I load up my service van with the essential parts and tools we might need for the day.

7:00 AM – First Call

Our first stop is in Monee, IL, where an elderly couple’s furnace stopped working overnight. These emergency calls are our top priority, especially when temperatures drop below freezing. After a thorough diagnostic check, I identify a faulty ignitor and get their heating system back up and running.

9:30 AM – Scheduled Maintenance

The next appointment takes me to Matteson, IL, for a routine furnace maintenance check. These preventive services are crucial for:
– Ensuring efficient operation
– Extending system lifespan
– Preventing unexpected breakdowns
– Maintaining manufacturer warranties

12:00 PM – Quick Lunch Break

A brief stop between calls to warm up and review the afternoon schedule.

1:00 PM – Furnace Installation

The main project of the day is in Frankfort, IL, where we’re installing a new high-efficiency heating system. This typically takes several hours as we ensure everything is perfectly installed and tested.

4:30 PM – Emergency Call

Just as we’re wrapping up in Frankfort, we receive an urgent call from Chicago Heights about a malfunctioning heating system. This is common during winter months, and we pride ourselves on providing same-day service whenever possible.

6:00 PM – Day Wrap-up

Before heading back to base, I complete all service documentation and prepare the van for tomorrow’s calls. Another satisfying day helping our communities stay warm and comfortable during the cold Illinois winter.

No day is exactly the same in this line of work, but ensuring our neighbors in Crete, Peotone, and surrounding areas have reliable heating systems makes it all worthwhile.
