A Day of Keeping South Florida Cool – Life as an HVAC Tech

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine

The day starts early at Kelvin Comfort Air Conditioning. After grabbing my essential tool kit and checking the day’s schedule, I’m ready to help our West Palm Beach neighbors stay comfortable.

7:30 AM – First Call in Lake Worth Beach

Our first stop is a preventative maintenance check. Summer in Florida means every AC unit works overtime, and regular maintenance keeps systems running efficiently. I inspect the condensing unit, check refrigerant levels, and clean the coils.

10:00 AM – Emergency Call in Greenacres

A family’s AC stopped working overnight. In South Florida’s heat, this is a priority. After diagnosing the issue as a failed capacitor, I quickly make the repair. The relief on their faces when cool air starts flowing again makes this job worthwhile.

1:00 PM – Lunch Break

Quick lunch in Boynton Beach between calls. I use this time to check updates from dispatch and review the afternoon schedule.

2:00 PM – New Installation

The afternoon involves installing a new energy-efficient system for a customer who’s been dealing with an aging unit. It’s satisfying knowing they’ll see lower energy bills and better comfort.

What We Typically Handle Daily:

  • Emergency AC repairs
  • Routine maintenance checks
  • System installations
  • Air quality assessments
  • Thermostat programming

5:00 PM – Wrapping Up

Before heading back to base, I complete the day’s service reports and prepare for tomorrow. Every day brings new challenges, but keeping South Florida comfortable makes it all worthwhile.

Working at Kelvin Comfort Air Conditioning means being part of a team dedicated to customer service and technical excellence. Whether it’s a midnight emergency or a routine check-up, we’re always ready to help our community stay cool and comfortable.
